Rhiana Roque M.D.
Hello. I am Dr. Rhiana Roque, a psychiatrist with 15 years of experience treating adult patients across different settings.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology so it felt natural to choose Psychiatry as my field. But being a dancer from childhood then later switching to martial arts as an adult, I have always been keenly interested in athletic pursuits and Sports Medicine.
With the establishment of the exciting and very important field of Sports Psychiatry, I am thrilled to bring my two passions together. I founded Elite Sport Mental Health, a solo practice dedicated to treating mental disorders and optimizing mental health in athletes.
Values
I have a lifelong commitment to health and fitness myself. I firmly believe in, and try to embody daily, the discipline of taking care of both physical and psychological well-being, recognizing they are intricately connected.
For years I treated my patients with psychiatric medications as my primary tools, and was limited to short and infrequent visits. I eventually realized I was short-changing both my patients and myself. So I created an avenue where my unique set of skills and experience can help more people, more effectively.
I live a healthy and active lifestyle. I continue to train in martial arts including boxing and grappling. I care deeply about the environment and am an avid scuba diver, and underwater and travel photographer.
